Tech. Tuesday.....On Thursday- Feb. 2

My apologies for posting late this week.  I was under the weather, but ready to talk tech now.

In an article published in The Washington Post on January 21, the online social network, Twitter, is declared as the latest and best solution for "inspiration, commiseration and classroom-tested lesson plans," for teachers.  It told the story of a new teacher who, feeling overwhelmed and overworked, stumbled on to the network and found a veritable smorgasbord of just-in-time professional development that she could consume whenever and however she wished.   She goes as far as crediting the resources that she found on Twitter for saving her career by allowing her to connect with colleagues world-wide.  The article states, "The camaraderie and free, instantaneous help they find through Twitter, and its stream of pithy messages, is far more useful than traditional school training programs, which often feature fixed agendas, airless rooms and canned speeches by hired experts."  Apparently, the champions of this Twitter PD claim that their most valuable time spent on professional growth is done in the 15 minutes or so that one spends seeing what is going on each day on Twitter.  So, I decided I would give it a try.  It took me about 5 minutes to set up an account and start checking out tweets.  I found something useful in my very first search.  We will see how it goes....

I do want to share a few Twitter groups with you that you might find useful.  Did you know that there are Twitter Chats for:
